How to set up the attendance kiosk
What it's for
The attendance kiosk lets parents and staff check children in and out on a tablet at your center. Before you use it, you decide how people check in and whether a health screening runs first.
Where to find it
Settings → Attendance & Kiosk tab.
Step-by-step
1. Choose a check-in method
Under Check-in Method, pick one:
- QR Code — a parent or staff member scans with their phone.
- PIN Code — a 4-digit PIN entered on the kiosk tablet.
- Open Access — no authentication required.
Turn on Allow staff override PIN if you want staff to be able to check a child in when a parent forgets their PIN.
2. Set up health screening (optional)
Turn on Health Screening to require a health check before check-in.
- Temperature Check — choose who records it (Parent, Staff, or **Not
required), set the fever threshold, and turn on Block check-in if fever detected** to stop a child being checked in above that temperature.
- Wellness Questions — turn this on to ask a short set of health questions.
- Health screening always runs before check-in, whichever check-in method you chose.
3. Manage registered devices
Under Registered Kiosk Devices, you'll see every tablet or phone registered to your center — its name, branch, when it was registered, when it was last active and whether it's Online or Offline. Use Remove to unregister a device you no longer use.
4. Save
Click Save Settings (or Save Changes at the top) to apply your choices.
Tips & limits
- Registering a device happens on the device itself — see *How to check children in
and out at the kiosk*.
- The Attendance Audit at the bottom lists recent check-in and check-out events,
including any that were blocked by a fever or symptom.
