How to track development milestones
What it's for
The Development view gives you a single grid of every child's progress across developmental domains. It's the quickest way to see who's on track and who might need extra support.
Where to find it
Development (under Learning and Development)
Step-by-step
- Go to Development.
- At the top, choose the framework you're tracking against (for example, a national
early-learning framework or a toddler framework).
- The grid shows each child in a row, with a column for each domain — such as
Language & Literacy, Motor Skills, Numeracy and Social & Emotional Development. Each cell shows how many milestones the child has reached (for example, 5/18).
- Use the search, age and classroom filters to narrow the list.
- Click a child's row to open their milestone details.
Tips & limits
- The stat cards (On Track, Developing, Needs Support, Total Tracked) summarize your
whole group at a glance.
- Progress here is built from the observations you record — the more you observe,
the fuller this picture becomes.
- A child showing Needs Support simply means few milestones have been recorded yet;
it updates as you add observations.
