How to set up your skills library
What it's for
The skills library is the list of skills your academy teaches and wants to track — for example a technique, a level, or a competency. Once a skill is in the library, teachers can record how each student is progressing on it, and it can appear in progress reports. Set this up before recording skill progress.
Where to find it
Go to Learning → Skills Library.
Step-by-step
- Go to Learning → Skills Library.
- Click Add Skill (or open an existing skill to edit it).
- Give the skill a name (required) and choose a category to group it (or add a new category).
- Set the Target Level (Mastery) — a level from 1 to 5 the student is working toward.
- (Optional) Tag the skill to specific Programs, or leave it empty to make it available academy-wide.
- Click Add Skill. It appears in your library, ready to use.
Managing skills
- The library shows your Total Skills and how many are Active, with filter tabs by category.
- Edit a skill to change its name, category, or target level.
- Turn a skill on or off (active/inactive) to control whether it's available for recording progress, without deleting it.
- Delete a skill you no longer use.
Tips & limits
- Set up skills before recording skill progress — teachers pick from this library (see *How to update a student's skill progress*).
- Keep the library focused on the skills you actually assess and report on.
