Welcome to Skooly — where to begin
What it's for
Welcome to Skooly Academy! This guide gets your academy up and running. If you're setting up for the first time, work through the articles below in order — each one builds on the last, taking you from an empty account to a fully operational academy with your classes, students, staff and families all set up.
The recommended setup order
- Sign in to your account — access your admin portal for the first time.
- Set up your academy profile — your name, type, contact details, timezone and hours.
- Customize your branding — add your logo and colors so Skooly looks like your academy.
- Set up your academic structure — the levels and tags you'll organize students by.
- Create a class or program — build your catalog of what you offer.
- Set up your locations or branches — if you run from more than one place.
- Add a student — start building your roster.
- Add a staff member — add your instructors and admins.
- Invite parents and students — give families access to their portal.
You don't have to do everything at once. The essentials to get going are your academy profile, at least one program, and your students — you can refine branding, locations and the rest whenever you're ready.
Tips & limits
- The steps above are the recommended order, but you can jump to any of them from the
articles in this section.
- A few settings apply everywhere once set — your currency and timezone
(in your academy profile) affect billing, scheduling and reports — so it's worth getting those right early.
- Ready to start collecting payments? See the Billing & Payments section to
connect a payment method and set up invoicing — that's the natural next step once your students and programs are in place.
- Need waivers or consent forms signed? Setting up legal agreements and waivers
is covered in its own section, so you can collect signatures during enrollment.
- Looking for something else beyond setup — enrolling students in programs or
reports? Those are covered in their own sections of this help center.
